ipython keybindigs F12 F11 … to start Controller View etc don't work.

On newer linux versions the ipython keybindigs F12, F11,… to start Controller, 3D View don't work.

This problem started for ipython versions above 5.0. We have a proposed fix:

But it behaves differently on each system version (ubuntu 14.04, ubuntu 16.04, debian stretch, devuan ascii).
