After compiling a working copy of Xonotic again and looking at a serious lack of competition on this forum (there’s only one other balance floating around here) I became inspired to restart work I had done on some physics and balance I never finished. This is meant to be more of an evolutionary type of change from Nexuiz, not a revolutionary one like balanceFruit (which borrows too much from Quake III and Team Arena in my opinion). Mine was originally intended to bring back some aspects that were cool about 2.4.2 (FAST and chaotic) and ELIMINATE weapon redundancy while making sure everything “feels” right. In my honest opinion balanceFruit.cfg tries to copy too much from Quake III and Warsow and at the same time ruins the logic behind many of the weapons giving the game’s weapons more of a heirarchy as opposed to a rock/paper/scissors balance and exactly what I would expect to see created by the “pro” crowd. It also feels VERY alien to what players were used to in Nexuiz 2.0-2.5.2 which will be a major problem for players jumping games.
