Make including metadata opt-out
Currently and by default the CLI collects and uses metadata (file names, line, and column numbers, YAML markers) from Ansible content just for displaying the scan output, which means that no data about your Ansible content structure is sent to the backend server. For an enriched user experience in the Spotter App and also to get additional tips for improvements sending the metadata is important.
Users that are not using the --include-metadata
mostly do this because simply they don't know about it. Since we and the users want to get most of Spotter just with spotter scan .
, we can make including metadata opt-out with the new --exclude-metadata
flag that would signal the CLI to omit collecting and uploading the metadata from the current local project.
