Automatic landing action "turn off backlight" turns brightness off before takeoff

XCTrack 0.9.12.3 on android 14 (motorola edge 30).

I forgot a couple of times after landing to stop xctrack, so I've setup some automatic actions to avoid a complete discharge with the following:

• Quit XCTrack
• Stop tracking
• Turn off backlight

this results in a number of broken behaviors, which I'm logging separately:

With the above settings, xctrack will indeed turn off the backlight on landing and exit. But if you try to start xctrack again, very often the screen will suddenly go dark, as if already landed. It only starts to work correctly if you exit, force-quit xctrack, then start again, until the next time landing is detected.

Since then I had to remove the "turn off backlight" action, which makes the issue disappear on start. This is how I know this specific action is responsible for this behavior.
