No missing update found. Nothing to do - A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.
Hi everybody, I'm new to WSUSOU so please be kind if I'm making some obvious mistake here, but I'm really pulling my hair out with this problem.
I'm trying to update my Windows 7 clients with the latest Office 2013 version since MS will drop O365 support for Outlook version 15.0.4970.9999 and older. https://m365log.com/exchange/reminder-update-to-microsoft-365-and-outlook-for-windows-connectivity-2/
I can download everything I need (I even enabled x64 updates for some clients with that version), but whatever I try it always exits with "No missing update found. Nothing to do".
Since I'm failing to insert code in a proper way I'm attaching the full console output console_output.txt
To me it seems obvious that the problem resides in the ListMissingUpdateIds.vbs error, and looking at the windowsupdate.log inside c:\windows there's this error: windowsupdate.txt
Digging in the gitlab issues and forum threads I found other people with similar problems but without a proper solutions as far as I can tell, what I ended up doing so far are these steps:
- installed the certificate present in the file wsusscn2.cab inside Trusted Root Certification Authorities (both as machine and user)
- installed the certificates suggested in this forum thread https://forums.wsusoffline.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6098# inside Trusted Root Certification Authorities (both as machine and user)
- updated rootca and rvkroots as per this thread suggested https://forums.wsusoffline.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5651&p=18992&hilit=A+certificate+chain+processed%2C+but+terminated+in+a+root+certificate#p18992 (very similar to my problem)
- wiped and download everything again from scratch as suggested here #19 (closed)
But none of the above worked for me.
Since MS dropped SHA1 I tried to fully patch (minus the Office updates) a client so to have latest SHA2 integration, but I'm having the same problem.
I have a mixed environment: all Windows 7 x64 clients Professional and Enterprise editions, some with Office 2013 32bit and some with 64bit installation, none is working with WSUSOU.
I created a separate WSUSOU instance with only Windows 7 x64 updates to see if that worked and it's only an Office 2013 issue, but got the same result.
Windows Update is working on all clients and finds both Windows and Office missing updates to be installed.
I'm sorry if this post looks utterly ugly but I'm having big problems in understanding how to proper indent and insert things in gitlab (this is my first account and issue ever).
Any suggestion is greatly appreaciated.
Thanks
