Hi, I'm Wen Qin

Online, I mostly go by wqyeo or yeodev. I'm a software engineer in Singapore.

I spend my days building business-automation software and my nights working on open-source tools I want to build or contribute to. I like working across the whole stack: the application people use, the services behind it, and the infrastructure it runs on. I use the language that fits the problem rather than forcing the same one everywhere.

What I work with

I'll take an object-oriented language wherever I can get one, usually Kotlin, Java, C#, or something in the C++ family. On the front end, I usually work in React or SvelteKit with TypeScript.

I also work on operations: Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible across AWS, Oracle Cloud, Azure, GCP, Scaleway, and Hetzner. I self-host on Proxmox too.

My favourite part is DevOps: automating as much of that work as I can get away with.
