Wireshark 4.4.0 / macOS 14.6.1 wifi if monitor mode
Summary
When you launch Wireshark 4.4.0 and exit the wifi interface is stuck in monitor mode.
Steps to reproduce
- Launch Wireshark
- Exit
- Look at status of wifi interface. It will be in monitor mode.
What is the current bug behavior?
On launch, the wifi interface if not associated will enter monitor mode. If you check the interface setup in Wireshark, the "monitor mode" checkbox is unchecked.
(I use the ethernet interface on my Mac mini M2)
This does not occur on my MacBook Pro 2020, which also runs on ethernet.
What is the expected correct behavior?
a) The wifi interface should not enter monitor mode.
b) monitor mode should only be entered when checkbox is highlighted.
