I'm a professional Windows and Linux software developer who works on healthcare software. I am learning to contribute to Gitlab on my own time because I care about it.
Things I'm doing right now:
I'm interested in writing a Windows installer for Gitlab CI Multi Runner, possibly with some add-ons like MSYS2 based set of posix-ish tools (bash, wget, curl, ssh, scp, etc). Logged issue 1898 on gitlab-ci-multi-runner
Testing gitlab CI multi runner (Golang codebase) on Windows. It doesn't currently pass tests and builds are not ever done on Windows. Maybe I can help.
I'm interested in making Gitlab work better with RedMine and Jira. Also interested in making third party issue tracker integration less gross. (Clicking the "issues tab" and exiting gitlab isn't nice)
I'm interested in adding a few features to Gitlab and the CI runner to handle multi-platform builds a bit better. I think that a special "posixly correct" bash should be "shipped" as part of a Gitlab CI runner installer for Windows that would make it easy to deploy and automate cross platform projects that have perhaps some integration tests which run only on windows, or even some binary artifacts which have to be built only on windows.
