New Feature Request: QR Code scanner
When I brew beer and bottle it, it is hard work labelling the bottles.
I wrote a web-based application suitable for mobile phones that can:
- generate a list of QR codes to print on labels - these are simply unique integers 1,2,3... etc as QR codes
- the web app has a QR code scanner to read the number from the QR code on the bottle
- the web app fetches a list of recent brews from the Brewfather API
- the user chooses the beer batch from a dropdown and the app associates the bottle number with the brew.
- the user can scan any bottle label, and the app displays the associated batch information
- bottles get re-used, and the number gets associated with the next batch it is used for
I realised that this is a function you could easily add to Brewfather - a screen that embeds a QR scanner, and allows the user to associate a code with a batch and displays the data.
If this is not of interest to you, then the ability to write aribtrary text to the notes field of a batch via API means I can store the bottle data in the batch itself, and not have to maintain a separate back end.
