Google Earth VR crashes on startup

When I run Google Earth VR with Proton experimental enabled, it "builds the earth" and then crashes. starting it again, it already crashes beforeentering the application. On ProtonDB there are no recent entries, but I might add a report.

If anyone has any suggestions or own experiences to share, I would appreciate it.
