DSHOT ESC telemetry BAT1_SOURCE=ESCs not working

Hi, I'm running a VOXL Flight without a power module since it's not sufficient for the current I require, however my ESCs report their voltage and current which shows up in the mavlink terminal and ulog files. There is a new parameter called BAT1_source which supports getting voltage and current readings from the ESCs, however I can only select it using the daily version of QGroundControl. When I do select it, both QGroundControl and the ulog files do not report voltage or current.
