Nala hangs before conffile question

For the 2nd time in the past 2 months, nala stopped in the middle of an upgrade, when a package needed confirmation, if to keep conf or dismiss. The question does not show with nala, it stops right before it (yesterday at an upgrade of adduser 3.130). Apt has no problem, shows the question, I hit ENTER and the (dist)-upgrade moves on.

Edit: A few people at our forum reported the same issue: https://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=8820.msg70106;topicseen#msg70106 The screen that lets you accept or deny the new configdoes not appear, but if you blindly hit 'y', it moves on.
