[meta] Prepare for sunset of TS-GitLab instance
With the nearing end of the TS-CCEES group, corresponding infrastructure will be shut down as well. There are a number of tasks that we need to carry out to ensure a smooth transition of Utopia and accompanying projects to other platforms.
-
#288 (closed) Prior to project migration, set up a mirror to GitLab.com - Already establishes a (read-only) presence on GitLab.com ...
-
Host the Utopia documentation on another web server than Hermes -
Use a fixed subdomain to refer to the Utopia documentation, e.g. docs.utopia-project.org
Can simply run thedoc_server
on another machine (e.g. @blsqr private server)-
Use GitLab Pages, see https://gitlab.com/utopia-project/docs, triggered from this project -
As soon as it runs smoothly, update links to point to docs.utopia-project.org
instead ofhermes.iup…
-
-
Migrate the project to GitLab.com - Need to ensure that as many users as possible are imported alongside and we don't destroy all the issues and their history ... see this issue for more information
- Need to update a lot of links ...
-
Update JOSS publication and ask for re-rendering (see here)
Nice-to-have
-
(After project migration) consider to deploy docs from this project directly, which would allow to host the docs preview via GitLab pages as well ... - #360 Consider opening an alternative to the Utopia Mattermost channel somewhere (slack, discord, ...) and ideally import some of the history
