Speed up HDF5 data loading

Loading of hdf5 data is always linear in number of HDF5 datasets or groups. Maybe we can speed up individual parts of that.

Proposal

  • Profile the loading function to find out which parts are slow and could be improved
  • Possibilities to speed up
    • More lazy loading
    • Only load up to a certain depth
    • Load fewer data (attributes etc.)
