Feature Request: Import/Export CONTACTS, CALL LOG, SMS/MMS, CALENDAR, CALL RECORDINGS from/to Android (enhancement)
Created by: osering
As an Ubuntu is not a major player in mobile world and people are jumping from Android to Ubuntu and back, it's of a TOP IMPORTANCE to have features (tool) to make migration as smooth as possible. Right now all efforts are going to providing system migration (and functionality), but none - to data migration (backup/restore) between devices.
Standard data to be migrated on the phone is: CONTACTS (PHONE BOOK), CALL LOG, CALL RECORDINGS, SMS/MMS, CALENDAR. Could be something similar to Android app "All Backup Restore" functionality, and considering using the same standard to ease transfer without need to make similar Android app.
There has been "Feature Request: import sms/mms/call history from Android #1455" couple years ago, but it is totally stalled.
Such functionality WOULD ENCOURAGE people to try out/use Ubuntu Touch greatly without risk of something like a "de facto" vendor lock-in.
P.S. CALL RECORDER like opensource Axet's (https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/callrecorder-axet) or Skvalex (https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/callrecorder-skvalex) available on Android and even included in Magisk ports, is also of first necessity (without discussing on legality in certain countries which is totally different issue).
