Google sync broken

Hi, it has been a few months already since Google sync is broken for contacts. While it still seems to work on devices which has this set up from before, new sync is not possible to be established. Signing in via system settings or even directly from within the app (and enabling sync for the contact app) still makes the address-book-app ask for contact import and leaving the list empty.

App settings will also not allow you to select Google as a default source, leaving it to personal as that's also the only option listed.

I've tried it on Meizu MX4 (where I still had contact sync enabled - it seemed to work ok until I removed Google account and added it again) as well as Redmi Note 9 Pro.

It might not be an app issue, could be a system/evolution issue, however calendar app works just fine.

Sadly, this is no longer affecting just devel but to my knowledge is also an issue in stable OTAs.
