Clone URLs with detected username into username/repo subfolder, instead of just repo subfolder
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Choosing Git Clone from the context menu
- Putting the URL to a Github repo in the URL textbox
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Not quite expected, but it would be nice if TortoiseGit could be configured to recognize URLs with a username/repo
(including, but not limited to Github URLs) and create a corresponding folder structure locally -- if right-clicking within C:\repos
, TortoiseGit could create a subfolder at C:\repos\username
and gt clone
the repo into C:\repos\username\repo
.
What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit 2.8.0.0
git version 2.17.1.windows.2
