Git Clone does not support UNC path
By clan... on February 05, 2009 11:16 (imported from Google Code)
Problem found at Commit Hash: 6c261f38
REL_0.3.0.0_INTERNAL
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- In TGit clone enter a UNC path (\server\path\file.git) as the existing
repository url - Enter valid directory for desination
- Click OK
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The clone fails as the url passed to git.exe is incorrect. Error is of the form
fatal: failed to open C:/<current directory>/\server\path\file.git/objects
Running git clone manually passing it //server/path/file.git works ok.
I imagine any other operation that could take a UNC path will also fail.
