Huge CPU consumption of explorer.exe when doing "start ." in a repository

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. In command-line, CD to a directory nested inside a GIT repository
2. execute "start ."

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Huge cpu consumption by explorer.exe

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.5.0 Windows 7 x64

Please provide any additional information below.

(I also have installed latest TortoiseSVN)
