TGitCache constatntly crashing.

By key.jani... on November 05, 2011 00:18 (imported from Google Code)

(Sorry for the long report, I am not sure what has lead to the current broken state, so I provide complete story.)

For several months I was using TortoiseGit 1.6.5 (not 100% about the version) with git version 1.7.3.1.msysgit.0 on a box with 64bit Windows 7. There was a 64-bit as well as a 32-bit version of TortoiseGit installed because I often use Altap Salamander 2.54 [http://altap.cz/salam_en/index.html] which is 32-bit only and it has not been able to work with 64-bit TortoiseGit.

Everything was working well for months.

Then suddenly few seconds after creating a new branch (on command line, not via the TortoiseGit) in one project, TGitCache has crashed several times. Hence I uninstalled both 32-bit and 64-bit TortoiseGits and downloaded new versions (1.7.4.0) of both.

32-bit refused to install so I installed just the 64-bit one. However its TGitCache keeps crashing often (crash report attached). After some experimenting it seems the crash is triggered by changing directory in one of the git-tracked projects in the AltapSalamander (32bit). (Other ones do not trigger that).

(Doing the same in Windows Explorer (64bit) does not trigger the crash.)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
