Rebase window should allow easier selection of Pick/Squash/Edit/Skip. (Enhancement)

By juj... on April 21, 2011 13:45 (imported from Google Code)

I have to often merge one branch into another by selectively merging individual commits in that branch to the other branch.

In that process, I have from dozens to hundreds of items in the rebase window that I need to go through.

Currently to choose what to do for a commit, the user right-clicks on the item, and selects Pick/Squash/Edit/Skip from the context menu. I find this to slow down my work. It would be nicer to be able to select the action to take by using a shortcut (Shift-S for Skip, Shift-P for Pick) (or even just pressing Space Bar to toggle between Skip<->Pick). That way, I could quickly move through the commits using arrow keys, and pressing space bar to exclude the items I don't want to have in the merge.
