Default column widths in log commit file list are off

By dev.unleashedm... on April 05, 2011 20:50 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Commit something.
  2. Invoke "Show log", select the commit.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Except of diffstat (Add/Del) columns, none of the other column values can be read without manually customizing the column sizes.

After having customized the column sizes, and selecting another commit, the column sizes are reset to the original/default widths and have to be manually enlarged again in order to see something.

In terms of optimal usability, my expectation is pretty clear:

- All columns automatically align to the right.
- All columns are automatically sized to fit (not cut off) the largest value. Auto-sizing starts from the right-most column.
- The Path column is aligned to the left. Depending on the overall log window size/width and the other column widths, longer file paths may be cut off, but that's fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

TortoiseGit 1.6.5.0
git version 1.7.4.msysgit.0
Windows 7 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.

See attached screenshots for actual and expected behavior.
