Remote names with dots (e.g., john.doe) do not show properly in fetch dialog box

By alan.... on January 11, 2011 20:43 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. git remote add john.doe ../repo
  2. Right-click, TortoiseGit > Fetch...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

You expect to see "john.doe" for the Remote value, but instead you see "john."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

32-bit TortoiseGit 1.6.2.0 with msysgit 1.7.3.1 on Windows XP.

Please provide any additional information below.

I haven't tried actually doing a fetch; I assume it would fail.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
