Settings crashes on setting user name and email address

By snes... on December 22, 2010 03:04 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Launch Settings from the Start menu
  2. Go to the option under "Git" and enter a name and email address
  3. Press "Apply"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The program crashes and wants to send an error report. The "Apply" button stays active, in case it is supposed to deactivate after applying a change.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6.1 32-bit on Windows 7 32-bit, and Git (msysgit) 1.7.3.1.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
