Context menu diff crashes/errors

By gordon.mcke... on December 17, 2010 17:12 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Make a change to a previously-committed file in your working directory.
  2. Right-click the file and choose Diff from the TortoiseGit context menu.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see the diff viewer open and compare the two file versions. Instead I see a dialog from "TortoiseProc" indicating that an error occurred and that an error report has been created (see attached).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Confirmed in 1.5.9.0 and 1.6.0.0 (both 64-bit) on Windows 7 x64. Machine has been rebooted since installation in each case.

Please provide any additional information below.
If I bring up the log for the file and select the working directory and head revisions, I can choose 'compare revisions' to launch the diff viewer as expected.
