Failure trying to revert a "merge"

By h.loe... on December 15, 2010 02:12 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Create a new branch
  2. Make changes
  3. Merge new branch into master
  4. Try to revert merge

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected output is that the revert should succeed. Instead, what we're seeing is an error because "git.exe revert" doesn't specify a "-m" option.

I can achieve this via an SSH shell using "git revert -m1 <commit>".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.5.8.0

Please provide any additional information below.
