More context menu options in the "Changed Files" dialog

By atna... on November 08, 2010 01:36 (imported from Google Code)

This is an enhancement suggestion.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Perform "Show Log" to open the "Log Messages" dialog (e.g. Right click in a working tree and select "Show log".
2.Select two commits, right click on one and select "Compare revisions"
3.Right click on a file in the "Changed Files" dialog to display the context menu.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
There are currently three options. An enhanced version would also offer the following options:

  • Show Log
  • Copy paths to clipboard
  • Copy all information to clipboard
  • (Maybe any other option offered in the Path-pane context menu of "Log Messages" that make sense..)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit 1.5.8

Please provide any additional information below.
"Show Log" might be difficult to implement because "Changed Files" is a modal dialog?..
TortoiseSVN showed the result of a comparison between selected commits in the Path-pane of Log-Messages so this wasn't so much of an issue. (I'm not sure what selecting more than two commits in TortoiseSVN showed.)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
