Whole repository context menu actions not visible in Win 7 folders in libraries

By ilkka.s.laukka... on August 12, 2010 08:32 (imported from Google Code)

Windows 7 has a concept called Libraries, which are sort of virtual folders that can contain any subfolder anywhere in the system. I have a "Source" library that contains project folders for a bunch of things. The Windows Explorer for win 7 differentiates between whether you're viewing a particular project folder through its containing library, or through a regular filesystem path. When viewing a git project folder through the library, the context menu for the project folder does not contain TortoiseGit actions.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Create a git repository (e.g. c:\repos\example) and add its parent directory (c:\repos) to a library (e.g. "code")
  2. Open windows explorer and from the sidebar, under "Libraries", click "code"
  3. Under "repos", double-click the "example" directory
  4. Right-click outside any file or directory, or in the status area of the explorer window to open the context menu for the directory

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- I expect to see the normal whole-repository TortoiseGit actions in the menu
- Instead I see the vanilla Windows directory context menu

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit 1.5.2.0 on Windows 7
