TortoiseGit allows to commit without setting up a username + email

By vdb... on June 14, 2010 09:02 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Clone a repository
  2. Make a commit

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

A warning that the user doesn't have a name + email address configured.
Currently this option is deeply hidden, only to be found by git experts who know setting a name + email is required.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

TortoiseGit 1.4.4.0

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
