Failed to checkout file when view file diff using Windows 11 context menu.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. right-click in git workspace folder. (Use windows 11 and tortoisegit 2.13.0)
  2. select tortoisegit-diff or tortoisegit-showlog.
  3. double-click any modified file in list.
  4. show "Failed to checkout file of revision to . libgit2 returned: Could not create file." error messgae.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

  1. open file diff view, no error.

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

tortoisegit 2.13.0 git version 2.35.1.windows.2 windows 11 21h2 10.0.22000.527

Please provide any additional information below.

This problem does not occur when using the classic context menu. If use windows 11 context menu to open ·settings-general-show environment variables`, tortoisegit will hung. and no icon show in taskbar. I think these bugs are caused by the same reasons.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
