"Revert to revision" fails for added files

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Add a file to your repository. (It doesn't matter if that is committed or just only staged)
  2. Show log
  3. Select any previous commit and click "Compare with working tree"
  4. You see the file in the list as an added file
  5. Select the file and click "Revert to revision"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expectation: The file is deleted from your index.

Instead: You see an error message says "error: pathspec 'filename' did not match any file(s) known to git"

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

TortoiseGit 2.11.0.0
git version 2.29.2.windows.2
Windows 10 Home 64bit 20H2 19042.630

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
