Clone: Auto fill from clipboard with URLs with quotes fails

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. In Gerrit 2.16.22 we have a clone string as: git clone "ssh://uidl9777@gerrit-server:29418/project" or git clone "https://gerrit-server/project"
  2. These quotes are not correctly recognized in tortoise git and doubled up, furthermore the final quote is additionally added to the Folder, which is not an allowed folder name, as shown in the picture attached.

tortoise_git_quotes_problem

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

We expect that the tortoise git is handling correctly the quotes, when you press git clone, for the string above as described in the picture below: tortoise_git_quotes_problem-2

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

  • Windows 10, 64 bit, build 1909
  • TortoiseGit 2.11.0.0
