Log dialog: Message box with the text "git_get_commit_from_hash failed for 00...00" appears in certain situations

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. In the Windows Explorer, select a file that has changes in the working tree and select "Git Show log"
  2. Select an arbitrary commit and then additionally "Working tree changes" at the top of the list (in this order!).
  3. Right click "Working tree changes". A message box with the text "git_get_commit_from_hash failed for 00...00" appears. Here is a screenshot that shows this situation: TortoiseGit_Bug_3

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

No message box with the upper error message should appear.

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

TortoiseGit: 2.10.0.0

Git: 2.28.0

OS: Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
