Commit dialog's "View Patch>>" shows nothing when dialog's right border is on the screen's right border

With TortoiseGit 2.8.0, the commit dialog includes a "View Patch>>" link in blue at bottom right. When clicked, the label changes to "Hide Patch<<", but for me, nothing was shown. I figured out after more than a minute that clicking this displays a window which is anchored to the commit dialog's original window, but right to its right. And there is no mechanism to ensure that both windows fit the screen. This means that if the main dialog's right border is aligned with the screen's right border, there is no more room left for patch display, and the patch window is invisible as long as the main dialog is not moved.

This will happen if the commit dialog is fullscreen.

To avoid that, either the patch can display over the main dialog, or the main dialog can be squeezed horizontally when space is lacking, or - at least - a message should warn that the patch window could not be positioned visibly.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
