Where is the "Check Repository" button on the "Check for Modifications" screen (like TortoiseSVN)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Right-Click on Cloned Git folder
- Select "TortoiseGit"-->"Check for modifications"
- Screen comes up showing my changes but screen has no "Check Repository" (or "Check Origin/Master") button
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In TortoiseSVN I used this feature ALL THE TIME to see if I needed to do an "SVN Update" prior to doing an "SVN Commit" If I had a "Check Repository" (or better for Git a "Check Origin/Master") I could do that to see if there were any other changes done to the REMOTE since my clone (i.e. do I need to do a GIT PULL before I do my Commit+Push.
What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?
- TortoiseGit 2.7.0.0 (C:\Program Files\TortoiseGit\bin)
- git version 2.18.0.windows.1
- (on Windows 7)
Please provide any additional information below.
I don't see ANY way to do a GUI "Compare LOCAL with REMOTE" which really STINKS (because BitBucket doesn't have it either!
I thought newer tools are generally better and have ALL the features of the older tool and then some...clearly not in this case!
