Issue created Aug 08, 2017 by BoffinbraiN@BoffinbraiN

When Log Messages window is narrow, Filter box placeholder text may cover up the Filter Types button

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the Log Messages window from a Git project
  2. Resize the window to make it narrower

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The placeholder text "Filter by Subject, Messages, ..." renders over the top of the Filter Types button (magnifying glass). If you know where the icon is and click there, you'll still get the menu.

LogMessagesFilterIconOverlap Once text is typed into the filter box, the issue goes away because user-entered text is left-aligned from the icon, whereas placeholder text is center-aligned.

LogMessagesNoOverlap

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

2.5.0.0 on Windows 7 Professional

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
