[Question] TortoiseGit + git-for-windows $PATH problem
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Installed a fresh copy of latest msysgit [Git for Windows 2.8.3 64-bit] + TortoiseGit (TortoiseGit 2.1.0.0 - 64-bit).
- TortoiseGit not works because it not detects git (via cmd it detects git.exe).
- My current PATH is:
C:\Program Files\TortoiseGit\bin;C:\Program Files\Git\bin;C:\Program Files\Git\cmd;C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin;:\Program Files\Git\usr\bin
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Restarted the machine, and TortoiseGit shows /usr/bin/bash: /usr/bin/git: No such file
What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?
- TortoiseGit 2.1.0.0 - 64-bit also tried preview build!
- Windows LTSB N x64
Please provide any additional information below.
Sorry somehow I'm to stupid to get it working myself. It already worked before I new installed Windows without any problems, it was something with a $path but I forget which one I need to set-up correctly.
THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE but maybe we can simplify the steps or better mention it in the help file since it's a bit confusing.
I hope someone can help me. THX.
