TortoiseGitMerge - find dialog box does not remember desktop location between invocations

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. open tortoisegitmerge
  2. ctl-f to bring up find dialog.
  3. move find dialog onto second screen or somewhere other than default location on first screen for testing.
  4. close tortoisegit merge.
  5. open tortoisegit merge (to simulate a batch merge operation, one file after another.
  6. ctl-f. to open find dialog again

What is the expected output?

Location of find dialog should be persistant. it should open where I put it.

What do you see instead?

It opens at the default location on the primary screen, obsuring my view so I have to move it again. a small thing, but it's annoying and interferes with workflow.

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

Tortoisegit merge 2.1.0 Windows 8.1, 64, fully patched. Git version not relevent as this is a UI issue.

Please provide any additional information below.

Thanks guys - if you don't want it to operate like this, maybe a configuration checkbox, persistant dialog locations, with option to restore to defaults if you lose them following a switch from multi-mon to single screen system for example.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
