TGitCache crashes on a broken repo

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Unpack https://yadi.sk/d/50mlHdydkLmZn (176M, expands to 250M)
  2. visit the resulting directory in Explorer or the like

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

"TGitCache crashed" window appears and reappears every time the shell extension tries to generate the overlay icon.

Not sure about the proper behavior (probably abort operation), but it shoudn't crash in any case.

What version of TortoiseGit and Git are you using? On what operating system?

XP, TortoiseGit 1.8.16.0, git version 1.9.5.msysgit.1

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
