Issue created Aug 02, 2015 by Sven Strickroth@mrtuxOwner

Unmodified files display as modified under MSYS2's git 2.0, but work fine under git 1.8

By mehrdadniknami.... on September 01, 2014 19:20 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Download msys2
  2. Install the latest git (currently version 2.1.0)
  3. Create a new repository
  4. Commit some file (it can even be empty)
  5. Try to commit again

What is the expected output?

Nothing should be "Modified" in the Commit dialog.

What do you see instead?

The file is "Modified", but 0 lines added and 0 removed

What version of TortoiseGit and msysgit are you using?

TortoiseGit is version 1.8.11.0.
I'm using msys2's git, not msysgit.
It is the 64-bit version.

On what operating system?

Windows 8.1 x64

Please provide any additional information below.

This problem doesn't occur with msysgit 1.8.4; it seems to be a git 2.0 issue.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
