'Prune' in the pull dialog does not work

By BlueRaja.ad... on June 25, 2014 13:05 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the pull dialog
  2. Check the 'prune' box
  3. Nothing different happens

What is the expected output?
Branches deleted on origin will be pruned (deleted) locally

What do you see instead?
No branches are pruned

What version of TortoiseGit and msysgit are you using? On
what operating system?
TortoiseGit 1.8.9.0 (C:\Program Files\TortoiseGit\bin)
git version 1.8.4.msysgit.0 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin)
Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
In order to prune branches, I need to use the checkbox in the Fetch dialog (which does work correctly).
Also, I personally think 'prune' should be checked by default, regardless of what git's default setting is. Old branches being re-pushed is the cause of so many issues on github...

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
