TortoiseGit sometimes crashes when doing Sync > Pull

By mario.volare... on April 07, 2014 09:14 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Branch should be already updated, do pull if it is not
  2. Open Git Sync dialog
  3. Click on pull

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should do a normal pull and say that everything is up to date.
Instead it sometimes crashes.
This issue is not always reproducible, I haven't discovered a reason yet.

What version of TortoiseGit and msysgit are you using?
I had this issue both with TortoiseGit 1.8.7.0 and 1.8.8.0
Had mysysgit 1.9.0 and 1.8.0.
Issue didn't happen when I had TortoiseGit 1.8.6.0 regardless of the mysysgit version.
Onwhat operating system?
Win7 SP1 x64

Please provide any additional information below.
Since it isn't always reproducible I have attached a crash dump. I hope it helps.
