Make "Delete Remote Tags..." more discoverable

By bbober.... on April 02, 2014 16:43 (imported from Google Code)

Make "Delete Remote Tags..." more discoverable. According to issue #1224 (closed) , you have to right click and then open Browse References and then "Delete all tags..." isn't even on the Tags, it's under origin.

I propose adding a checkbox on the push dialog that allows users to push "Deleted Tags" changes.

I would also add the "Delete all tags..." option under Tags in Browse References as well.

I wouldn't put the ability to delete tags remotely anywhere else, since deleting locally is less destructive. However, users would expect to be able to push a locally deleted tag change up. So the push dialog is definately an appropriate place for that option. They'd know that by checking it, they'd be deleting the tag on the remote server.

There are use cases for why tags need to be deleted in a normal course of a year, but the feature already exists from Issue #1224 (closed), so this is just about making it more discoverable.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
