Sync dialog fails with "Encountered an improper argument" when closing log tab with escape

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open sync dialog
2. Perform pull
3. Open log tab
4. Press the escape key
5. Perform pull

Expected: window is closed after step 4.

Actual: tab holder disappears, step 5 shows "Encountered an improper argument" alert.

Versions:
TortoiseGit 1.8.3.0 (C:\Program Files\TortoiseGit\bin\TortoiseGitProc.exe)
git version 1.8.1.msysgit.1 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin)
Windows 7 64-bit
