TGitCache prevents a git clone from performing successfully

By jelle.raaijmak... on November 29, 2012 09:28 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Make sure TGitCache.exe is running by viewing a Git repo in explorer
  2. Perform a 'git clone' using msysgit directly (bypassing TortoiseGit), preferably multiple git clones at the same time from a cmd window

Normally, git should clone a repository and create a checkout of the files.

Instead, almost always the following error is seen in the output:
"error: Unable to create C:/path/to/repo/.git/HEAD"

I'm using TortoiseGit 1.7.15.0, git version 1.8.0.msysgit.0, msysgit 1.8.0-preview20121022 on Windows 7 x64.

When I kill TGitCache.exe, the clone works without a problem. Also, when I try to delete the cloned repositories after a failed run, the delete action (both from explorer and cmd rmdir) fails to succeed unless I kill TGitCache.exe.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
