TortoiseGit Clone of SVN repo does not use PuTTY session for non-standard SSH port

By karthik.... on August 13, 2009 19:11 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Install Git
    (http://msysgit.googlecode.com/files/Git-1.6.4-preview20090730.exe) - use
    OpenSSH as choice of SSH
  2. Try to Clone SVN repository using svn+ssh://my-putty-session/path/to/repos
    3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to clone using my PuTTY session. Failed with "ssh: karthik-home: no
address associated with name". This is the same as
http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/issues/detail?id=305 in msysgit, but
cannot be fixed by git with the OpenSSH option.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit 0.9.1.0 64bit, Windows Vista 64-bit, msysgit 1.6.4.msysgit.0

Please provide any additional information below.
Tortoise SVN Checkout works with the sam URL. TortoiseGit also works if
SVN_SSH is set in the environment but it has to follow a specifix syntax
best handled from within TortoiseGit (see
http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/issues/detail?id=305)
