Cannot Create Empty Commit

By beepsm... on June 05, 2012 16:04 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the Log Dialog.
  2. Right Click on Working dir changes
  3. Select Commit
  4. Enter a log message
  5. Deselect all changed files (or do this on a clean copy)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to be able to make an empty commit without committing any file changes. This is useful for adding descriptions to new branches. Without any changed files to commit, the OK button in the commit dialog is grayed out, preventing the empty commit from being made.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.7.10.0 on Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.

Hasn't worked in previous versions either.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
