Settings page does not inherit msysgit system-wide config

By @ch3cooli on April 22, 2012 11:06 (imported from Google Code)

Assume msysgit is installed in C:\Program Files\Git,
The system-wide config file is located in
C:\Program Files\Git\etc\gitconfig

However, TortoiseGit settings page does not inherit those settings.

So, as an example, people keep telling me that autocrlf is false, but in fact EOL get converted because not they do not realize the existence of the system-wide config.

Could you inherit msysgit system-wide config when Git.exe Path is set?

To make it clearer, could you indicate whether the value is inherited from system or global config in settings dialog? A small label with "S", "G" next to each field would be useful.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
