Tracking branches when you don't want to/incorrectly

By feildmas... on March 14, 2012 21:54 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Create branches based off "master"
  2. Commit to new branch
  3. Trying to push, it will ALWAYS have "master." Even when you change the remote to "blank" or the same branch.

It should never try to push to master unless I tell it to! I think I'd rather use the command line than tortoisegit now.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
That there is NO branch in the remote! It should always push to the same branch as "local" by default!

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.7.0 x64 on windows

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
