tgit can get stuck on repos containing filenames that are invalid on windows

By walde.christ... on January 29, 2012 17:08 (imported from Google Code)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. git clone git://github.com/wchristian/ikiwiki.git
  2. open tortoisegit log
  3. force rebase master onto 24e89c6462e4f8b7183bca59d9e55789c7251320

What is the expected output?

I'd expect this to show me an error about the colons in filenames and allow me to click abort to close tgit.

What do you see instead?

Instead when i click abort, it just displays the error message again in an endless loop, forcing me to kill tortoiseproc.exe.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

This is with these versions:
TortoiseGit 1.7.6.0
git version 1.7.8.msysgit.1

On Windows 7.
